The Irish Ethiopian Adoption Organisation was founded in October 2004. The aim of the Organisation is to provide a support network for individuals and families who are intending to adopt or have already adopted from Ethiopia.
We are a non-profit organisation that provides a confidential support framework for members who either intend to adopt from Ethiopia or who have already adopted from Ethiopia.
Our annual calendar includes social events such as family days, regional get togethers, and we also celebrate Ethiopian New Year each September. We also run information sessions for prospective adopters. Another aspect of our activities is the promotion of Ethiopian culture. We run language courses in the Amharic language and provide information on Ethiopian cultural resources. Some of our events are open to non-members.
We strive to promote strong links with Ethiopia, which is important for both our children and ourselves. These ties will enable our families to express our multicultural heritage.
